Features
Five DVI Inputs, One DVI Output
The HDVI5 is a fully digital switch,
unlike many of the switches that have hit the
market recently, the HDVI5 decodes all DVI/HDMI
formats and re-encodes them on it's output. Unlike
analog switches that simply pass data through,
the HDVI5 can correct for a multitude of out
of spec signals, correct them, and still output
DVI 1.0 / HDMI 1.2a compliant data.
All DVI/HDMI/HDMI-Audio/HDCP Modes
Supported
The HDVI5 uses HDMI chipsets with
DVI connectors. This allows it to support all
DVI Modes, and by using standard DVI to HDMI
conversion cables, all HDMI modes. This includes
HDMI-Audio and all DVI-HDCP and HDMI-HDCP modes.
All Resolutions Supported
The HDVI5 supports all DVI 1.0, HDMI 1.0, HDMI
1.1, HDMI 1.2 and HDMI 1.2a modes and resolutions.
Everything from 480p through 1080p, and computer
resolutions from 640x480 through 1920x1200.
Tunable Cable Length Compensation
on Inputs
The HDVI5 features independently adjustable
equalization on each of its inputs. Easy front
panel adjustment allows sparkle free video
when using input cable lengths of up to 65ft
(20m) in the 1080p mode, and even longer lengths
in lower resolution modes. Or by adjusting
for short cables noise immunity is increased,
for increased picture stability.
Independent Digital Audio Switching
The HDVI5 features an independent
digital audio channel. This is needed to route
digital audio signals when switching DVI, and
allows the convenience of routing audio separately
from video when switching HDMI signals. Both
Optical (Toslink) and Coax (SPDIF) can be routed
through the HDVI5. All inputs accept both Optical
and Coax, and both Optical and Coax are available
as outputs simultaneously. All conversions
between Coax and Optical formats are done automatically.
Note: The HDVI5 does not
separate HDMI audio from the HDMI video information.
Audio and Video Break Away
An easy to use, intuitive audio/video breakaway
feature allows switching the digital audio
stream independent of the video stream. Listen
to CDs while keeping an eye on the score.
Easily switch the video back and forth between
two inputs, leaving the audio unaffected,
or switch between audio inputs leaving the
video unchanged.
Note: The HDVI5 does not
breakout HDMI audio. HDMI audio always follows
the HDMI video information.
Adjustable Audio and Video Switching
Mute Delays
With a multitude of video monitors and projectors
on the market, it's impossible to design a
switch that will accommodate them all at their
full switching speed potentials. Some monitors
require a substantial delay before they respond
to the new video signals, others are very fast.
Instead of designing for the slowest monitor
on the market, we designed the HDVI5 to give
you full control over the video and digital
audio switch timings. From no delay, to milliseconds,
to seconds, pick the timing that matches your
monitor. The video and audio switching times
are independently adjustable for maximum control.
Easy to Read Front Panel
All video and audio breakaway modes, and relay
settings, are easily read from across the
room. Ideal during installations, to verify
settings without having to cross the room.
Nearly all functions can be accessed through
the front panel, including learning new IR
codes, LED bright and dim levels, cable tuning,
audio / video switching delays, etc. Intuitive
displays along with an easy to use manual
makes customizing the HDVI5 for your particulars
needs a breeze.
Features Zektor's Exclusive IIR™ Learning
The HDVI5 comes with it's own remote
control. However if more than one HDVI5 is
used in one room, the HDVI5 features Zektor's
exclusive IIR (Intelligent Infra-Red) learning.
Zektor's IIR™ learning allows the HDVI5
to work with virtually any remote control! All
discrete codes are supported as well.
Two user defined Auxiliary Relays
Open and close window shades? Raise and lower
a projection screen? You decide. The HDVI5
includes two low voltage (30V @ 5A) relays
that can be used to control anything you
need controlling. The relays can be set to
activate whenever a particular input or inputs
are selected. Or they can be set to turn
on for a user adjustable amount of time before
turning off, or simply toggle when a button
is pressed, or any combination of the above.
With two dedicated front panel and IR buttons,
let your imagination decide what to do with
this feature. |
An Abundance of Control Features
Whatever your control needs are, the
HDVI5 can accommodate them. There are numerous
ways to control the HDVI5 and include the following:
- Front panel button control.
- Use the included Zektor remote controller.
- Teach the HDVI5 to learn to use a new remote
controller (A great solution when two or
more HDVI5 share the same room/rack).
- Rear panel hardwired IR jack.
- Rear panel RS-232 using the K.I.S.S.™ protocol.
- Rear panel +12v On/Off control.
Full Featured Remote Control Interface
A full featured IR command set is
available using the supplied remote, or any
user supplied remote control, including commands
such as: Power Toggle, Direct Channel Selection,
Audio / Video Breakaway Toggle, and Relay Toggle.
For better integration with universal remotes
with macro capabilities, the HDVI5 also responds
to the discrete commands Power On, Power Off,
Direct Audio/Video/Normal breakaway selection,
Relay On, and Relay Off.
RS-232 using the K.I.S.S.™ Protocol
The HDVI5 features Zektor's exclusive K.I.S.S.™(Keep
It Simple Serial™) protocol. Designed
by engineers who have spent their careers having
to deal with badly designed serial command
sets, the K.I.S.S.™ protocol is one of
the easiest, yet most versatile bi-directional
protocols on the market.
Firmware Upgradable
Something new on the market, or a feature we
haven't thought of yet? No problem, the HDVI5
allows firmware upgrades through its serial
port.
Auto Dimming Display
The LED indicator lights can be set
to be always Bright, always Dim, or to an Auto
Dim mode. The Auto Dim mode will fade the LEDs
from bright to dim about 4 seconds after a
channel is selected. Full control is given
over the bright and dim levels. You can even
have the front panel lights dim to fully off,
allowing the the HDVI5 to be used in a full
range of lighting conditions, from full sunlight
to pitch black.
Rack Mountable Metal Enclosure (1RU)
Enclosed in a steel chassis with a machined,
brushed aluminum front panel, and available
in black or silver, the HDVI5 easily integrates
into your existing home theater environment.
Optional International Power Supply
Available with an international power supply
for 90-264VAC, 47-63Hz operation. The international
supply comes with adapters for UK, EURO,
AUS and USA use.
