If you are running Version 2 firmware (any firmware that starts with '2') and you are having problems with your switch dropping off the network, firmware versions 2.41 (and above) will fix this problem.
Some switches have two version of firmware available. Version 1 is legacy code and is for bug fixes only. Version 2 code added features such as independent analog / digital sources and doorbell / paging functions.
The two versions are not driver compatible. If everything is running smoothly on Version 1, there is no need to upgrade, all bug fixes are in the Version 1 of the firmware. If you do upgrade from Version 1 of the firmware to Version 2, you will have to updgrade your driver as well. This means re-binding / re-mapping all your sources and zones!
If you upgrade from Version 1 to Version 2 firmware, make sure you have the time available to reinstall your drivers, and debug your new bindings!
This is not something to do late Friday night before the big game!!
This program can be used by all of our switches to set a static IP address, and backup the address in EEPROM so that it survives a power cycle.
To use this program you will need a USB to serial cable. Once the cable is installed and is running without any errors, double click on this program (you'll need to extract it from the .ZIP file). It will automatically find the proper serial port, and allow you to choose between static IP and DHCP. The new settings will be saved in EEPROM, and will be retained if power is lost.
